On August 1st, under the relay maintenance of six high-power tugboats and five patrol boats from the maritime departments of the Soviet Union and Shanghai in China, the world's largest tonnage and largest oil storage capacity of a new offshore floating production storage and offloading oil tanker (FPSO) was successfully delivered and sailed out of the Yangtze River in China.
Floating Production Storage and Offloading Oil (FPSO) is widely used in the fields of water oil separation, wastewater treatment, crude oil storage, and export in the process of offshore oil and gas extraction, and is known as the "offshore oil factory". In order to reduce the environmental load on FPSOs and lower the difficulty and cost of mooring, single point mooring is usually adopted. The characteristic of a single point mooring system is the wind vane effect, under which the FPSO rotates freely around the mooring point in all directions, keeping it in the position with the minimum external force. At present, this mooring method has been widely used in the South China Sea, Bohai Sea and other sea areas in China. A single point mooring system mainly includes a fluid transport system, mooring bearings, mooring buoys, flexible risers, turntable or turret systems, and other ancillary devices.
As the core component of liquid transportation in single point mooring systems, the liquid slip ring mainly functions to change the direction of the conveying medium and play a 360 ° rotating sealing role. As an established slip ring manufacturer, JINPAT has rich experience in the design of gas-liquid slip ring structures and can improve and customize slip rings according to different offshore operation needs. The LPA series marine equipment slip ring adopts a special waterproof sealing structure design, surface treatment process, and comes with heat dissipation and automatic heating devices. The power brush of the slip ring is made of imported graphite alloy material, which has the characteristics of high conductivity, long service life, salt spray resistance, corrosion resistance, acid resistance, vibration resistance, impact resistance, and low loss. It can operate normally with temperatures ranging from 120 ° C to -55 ° C. The JINPAT FPSO slip ring can be used alone or stacked with several sets of rotating joints to achieve parallel transportation of multiple media, providing one or more independent paths for liquids, gases, electrical signals, etc. This functional feature enables slip rings to be applied in more complex environments, such as those that require long-term operation in a mixture of various substances such as crude oil, natural gas, carbon dioxide, etc., which places high demands on the design reliability of slip rings. To this end, JINPAT has conducted multiple research and improvements on the design of this type of slip ring, and conducted multi-dimensional testing experiments on the performance of the slip ring.
FPSO slip rings, as the core components for liquid transportation in single point mooring systems, play a crucial role in oil drilling operations. They transmit current and signals through the relative rotational contact between the rotor and stator. The failure of the electric slip ring not only affects its production, but also affects the overall safety performance of the slip ring stack, threatening the safety production of the entire FPSO system. Therefore, JINPAT will not stop the pace of slip ring research and development. We will pay tribute to the technological era with a better version of ourselves.
